We imagined it, we designed it, and we built it: all that we desired in a flat bar road bike crafted and engineered with superior components and uncompromised by convention or price. An iconic double diamond profile, deceptively fast, and deliberately understated. Ideal for those days when you want to sweat a little, or commute, or maybe both. The S:1 is designed with meticulous attention to detail. Ultimately to get you there discreetly, effortlessly, and very, very quickly. With the S:1 we were determined to refine rider position to achieve superior control, handling, and comfort without sacrificing forward motion. Gender specific sports saddle, our custom roll: flat handlebar and cockpit set up combine to create the most effective and efficient position to transfer power into the pedals. There's a single thumb shifter for intuitive gear changing and a nifty 1x10 drive train that has the range of a traditional 2x9 but without the weight of a front derailleur. Our disc brakes offer performance far beyond traditional rim brakes, and although they're hidden, we favor superior sealed bearings throughout for low maintenance and maximum lifespan. The components we use are anything but 'standard'; We're committed to sourcing the best, and if we're not satisfied we design our own. You'll feel a distinct difference in the ride, not because of one exceptional component but the considered combination of them all. If you like to go faster farther, you'll fall in love with the S:1.

We designed and built this bike specifically to make the everyday ride far more than just an everyday ride. We began with our no compromise belief that every Roll bike should be effortlessly quick, forward thinking, and ultimately versatile. Custom geometry was essential to make the C:1 supremely comfortable, whilst swift and extremely agile. Our sculpted streamline frame and bespoke roll: custom riser bars, puts you in a more relaxed head and shoulder position, while still maintaining the most efficient pedal stroke. And whatever your journey, integrated mounting points allow a full complement of accessories and options. The C:1 presented us with the challenge to create an upright, comfortable and confident rider position without sacrificing our performance ideals. A 10 speed (1x10) drivetrain with a single, sequential thumb shifter excels in this set up, for more intuitive shifting, and lower maintenance. The disc brakes on the C:1 provide consistent, assured braking far beyond traditional rim brakes, and although they're hidden, we favor superior sealed bearings throughout for low maintenance and maximum lifespan. The GR:1 has been built to travel off the beaten path. We start with our new sealed bearing 650b wheel set, equipped with the light and supple Teravail Rampart 47mm wide gum wall tires, designed for rough pavement, gravel roads and well beyond. We switch to a lower range 34t front chainring as part of our preferred 1x10 drivetrain for greater climbing ability when the road gets rough and goes upwards. Upgraded SRAM level hydraulic brakes provide consistent, confidence inspiring stopping power, without fading over long descents. We love the feel of the premium Brooks Cambium C17 saddle and Cambium grips, that give all weather control and comfort you can settle into for long days exploring in the saddle.

Steel Commuter and Gravel Bike Preamble is a hard-boiled steel commuter built for comfort, durability, and buffoonery on pavement and gravel. Nothing More is Needed. Nothing Less Will Do. The challenge was thus: Build a serious steel bike and give it only the attributes that matter most. Make it quick and comfortable on pavement, as well as confident and compliant on degraded surfaces. What the Enginerds put forth is Preamble, a pavement and gravel utility worker that proves you don't need to cut corners or clip coupons to make a more affordable steel bike. You just need to keep shit simple. Preamble can run racks and fenders and carry a couple water bottles. Surly was raised on stealing basic cable, after all. Smooth and efficient on asphalt, Preamble's double-butted main triangle provides a resplendent ride feel and withstands abuse from life's inevitable potholes. Make it your own with flat bars, drop bars, a basket, or bags. On the road to steel euphoria, Preamble is the gateway drug. Let facts be submitted to a candid world: - Offered in flat-bar and drop-bar configurations - Easy T-Shirt sizing to fit nearly every rider (XS, S, M, L, XL) - Sloping top tubes on XS and Small frames for improved standover and comfort - To offer the best rider experience for every frame size, XS and S frames get 650b wheelsets while M–XL get 700c - Custom-cast single-position vertical dropout

We think by now, most of you get what Straggler is. It’s a madly versatile bike that can be used for most types of riding and riding surfaces. Better still is that you now have the option of 650b wheel size. 650b wheels were popular for a long time many years ago on ‘Constructeur’ style bicycles and we all know how real stuff was back in the day…650b wheels strike a nice balance between the benefits of both 26” and 700c sizes. The smaller wheel allows smaller riders to fit well on smaller frames, produces a stronger wheel, makes fitting big-ass tires easier and are more agile than their larger counterparts. Straggler has disc caliper mounts instead of rim brake studs. It’ll accept rotors up to 160mm. The rear dropouts are unique, too. They’re a partially closed horizontal design that accommodates singlespeed or geared drivetrains. They feature stop screws that thread in from the rear to further secure the wheel and to position the rear wheel for optimal shifting, plus a forward-mounted stop screw on the drive side to keep the wheel from slipping forward under the force of your gargantuan legs. The rear dropouts are spaced 135mm instead of 132.5mm like the Cross-Check simply because there are far more options for disc hubs in this spacing. Straggler 650b has braze-ons for fenders, racks and bottle cages. The geometry is slightly different, with angles and tube lengths very close but not identical to the Cross-Check, but like the Cross-Check it’s ready to take you just about anywhere. It’s a day tripper and a weekender. It’s a ‘rough road’ road bike. It’s a cyclocross bike with no pretense about racing. It’s a utilitarian townie. It’s a light-duty touring bike. It’s an all-weather commuter. And when you get tired of one set up, you can swap parts around and turn it into something else. We think that’s pretty neat.
$649.00
So what is this Straggler anyway? The easy answer is to say that we added disc brakes to a Cross-Check and this is close to accurate. People have asked us to make a disc version of our highly versatile Cross-Check for a long time now and almost everything about the two are very similar. Straggler is slightly different, though. The most obvious difference of course is that the Straggler has disc caliper mounts instead of rim brake studs. Straggler shares all of the Cross-Check’s braze-ons for fenders, racks and bottle cages. Originally designed as a 29er (and the frame that helped spark the 29" wheel movement), the latest Karate Monkey is designed to perform just as admirably as a 27.5+ rig as well. This allows you to pick your poison — provided your poison is having a really great time while permanently donning a huge grin, of course. - Modern trail standards: dropper post compatibility, 44mm headtube, Gnot-Boost rear spacing, thru-axles, suspension corrected fork - Compatibility with most mountain bike standards makes it the perfect parts bin bike (no rim brakes allowed though) - Clearance for 29" x 2.5" or 27.5" x 3" tires
